Frequently asked questions
About the law, the platform, data and prices.
Questions about the law? Record, privacy notice, breaches, transfers: the answers with the articles are in the FADP questions. FADP questions
Does my company also have to comply with the GDPR?
Often, yes: if it has an establishment in the EU, if it offers goods or services to people there or if it monitors their behaviour. The self-assessment checks this with five questions.
The law
Does my company have to comply with the AI Act?
In the EU the AI Act is mandatory for those established there and for those whose AI systems' output is used there, within clear limits: of those who use AI it mainly asks to train staff, avoid the prohibited practices, tell people when they are dealing with AI and follow rules of their own for high-risk systems such as recruitment. Switzerland has no AI law yet, but the FADP applies: it is good practice to give employees rules so that they do not enter personal data into AI tools by mistake. The self-assessment checks this.
The law
What changed with the new FADP of 2023?
More duties to inform, the record of processing, notifying breaches to the FDPIC, impact assessments and personal fines of up to CHF 250'000.
The law
Does a small company need a record of processing too?
Below 250 employees the FADP exempts you, unless you process sensitive personal data on a large scale or carry out high-risk profiling. Keeping one is still the simplest way to show that you know what you process.
The law
Does EasyLPD certify that we are compliant?
No. Nobody can certify compliance with the FADP in general, and we do not. EasyLPD tells you where you stand, guides you through the actions and gives you the documents to show what you have done.
The platform
Which languages are the documents in?
Italian, German, French and English. You choose the language of each document, whatever the language of the platform.
The platform
Are the signatures collected valid?
They are simple electronic signatures. For an acknowledgement, a consent or an appointment the law asks for no particular form; every signature has its own record of evidence.
The platform
Where is our data stored?
In Switzerland: the database and its backups in Zurich, an encrypted copy in Geneva. The application code runs in Frankfurt.
Data and security
Can Advisorn read our data?
No, unless you give a consultant read-only access for 30 days. Every access stays in your change log and you can revoke it.
Data and security
Can we cancel whenever we want?
Yes, from the settings. Within 30 days of the first payment we refund you. After cancelling, the data stays readable for 12 months and can be exported.
Prices and contract
Do the prices include VAT?
Yes, subscriptions include Swiss VAT where it is due. Consulting is CHF 250 an hour plus VAT.
Prices and contract
Do we need a lawyer or a consultant?
For most SMEs, no: the platform takes you step by step. When you need an opinion, Advisorn's consultants answer from the platform.
Consulting
Which language is the consulting in?
Italian and English. The platform and the documents stay in four languages.
Consulting
Can I use EasyLPD from my AI assistant?
Yes, with our public MCP server: https://easylpd.ch/api/mcp. Your assistant can ask which laws apply to you, run the self-assessment, check a transfer abroad, and list the FADP duties and the document templates. No account is needed and we store nothing of what it asks.
